Composition of Council

The Naledi municipality has 8 seats. The voters roll for the 2011 local government elections comprised of 13,054 registered voters. The highest voter turn-out was achieved in Ward 1 with 55.82 %. The lowest voter turn-out in the municipality was in Ward 2 with 47.50 %. The average voter turn-out achieved in the 2011 municipal elections was 53.52 %.

Following the 2011 local government elections, three political parties were represented in the municipality, namely the African National Congress (majority party) who holds 6 seats. The Democratic Alliance and Congress of the People hold one seat each. The Pan-Africanist Congress of Azania (PAC) did not retain the seat it won during the 2006 local government elections.
